AskPrice is a free price tracker that compares products across Macy's, Bloomingdale's, JCPenney, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, and Kohl's. It shows current prices and up to 14 days of price history. No signup or payment required.

### How does AskPrice get its prices?

We update product data daily from the public catalogs of the 6 retailers we cover. Prices may lag the actual store by up to 24 hours — always confirm on the retailer's site before purchasing.

### Is AskPrice affiliated with these retailers?

AskPrice is an independent project — no retailer owns, endorses, or sponsors it. Some links to stores may be affiliate links, so if you buy something after clicking through, we may earn a commission. That never changes the price you pay, and it has zero influence on rankings or which store shows as cheapest.

### Why are some products only listed in one store?

Each store carries its own SKUs. Even when two retailers sell similar items, they often have different model numbers. We match products across stores by UPC barcode — when UPCs match, you'll see a price comparison; otherwise the product appears under one store only.

### Do you store any of my data?

No accounts and no email — you never identify yourself. Saved items live in your browser's local storage and we keep no server-side copy; opening the Saved page sends the item ids to our servers to fetch current prices. We use pseudonymous analytics (Google Analytics and PostHog) tied to a random device identifier, never to a name or email — no ad networks, no selling data. Details on the Privacy page.

### Can I see longer than 14 days of price history?

Not yet — AskPrice shows up to 14 days of price history per product. Longer history and price-drop alerts are on our roadmap.

### How accurate is the "in stock" indicator?

The indicator reflects each store's API at the time of our last refresh (typically within 24 hours). For high-demand items, stock can change quickly. Always confirm on the retailer's site before checkout.

### How do I save items without an account?

Click the heart icon on any product card. Saved items live in your browser only. They'll be there next time you open AskPrice on the same device and browser. Clearing browser storage will clear your saves.
