Nordstrom Price Adjustment & Price Match Policy 2026: 10 Days, Full-Price Items Only

Does Nordstrom still price match in 2026?

No. Nordstrom's official pricing policy page says: "We stand behind our everyday pricing, so we don't price match other retailers." It still adjusts its own price drops: if Nordstrom lowers the price of an item you bought at full price within 10 days, it refunds the difference.

Older third-party guides still describe a 14-day competitor match, which is why some AI answers say Nordstrom "matches select competitors." The old competitor request page (/sr/price-match) now redirects to Nordstrom's own price adjustment request page. A widely shared r/Nordstrom1901 post from October 2, 2026 (141 upvotes, 88 comments) reports the change: phone-only requests, full-price Nordstrom items only, no competitor matching. The pricing policy confirms the last two. Phone-only is not right: as of October 21, 2026, nordstrom.com still has an online "Request a price adjustment" form.

What changed in October 2026

  • Competitor matching: no longer offered, per the current pricing policy.
  • Out of date: guides citing a 14-day competitor match; the old /sr/price-match page now redirects to the price adjustment request page.
  • Requests: online through the request page (order number and ZIP code) or Customer Care at 1-888-282-6060; the Reddit post's "phone only" doesn't match what nordstrom.com shows.
  • Effective date: early October 2026, by shopper reports; Nordstrom's pricing policy page doesn't give one. askprice last checked Nordstrom's pricing policy page on October 21, 2026.

How many days do I have for a price adjustment at Nordstrom?

You have 10 days: from the purchase date for in-store buys, from the shipment date for online orders. The item must have been bought at full price, and the same color and size must still be available at the lower price. Nordstrom adjusts at your request, so send the request within those 10 days.

What if the price drops after the 10-day window?

Then the pricing policy doesn't cover it, even on day 11. Your remaining option is the return policy, which has no set time limit but is applied case by case (see return and rebuy below).

Are Anniversary Sale and savings-event purchases eligible?

Yes, if you paid full price. Nordstrom's pricing policy says items included in Nordstrom savings events and the Anniversary Sale are eligible, as long as you ask within 10 days and the same color and size are still available. So a full-price item that joins the Anniversary Sale a few days after you bought it qualifies. If you paid the Anniversary Sale price, the policy pulls both ways: it says items "originally purchased on sale" aren't eligible, and that items included in savings events and the Anniversary Sale are. It doesn't say which rule wins, so don't count on a second adjustment for an item bought at the Anniversary Sale price: ask Customer Care (1-888-282-6060) before you buy, and keep the answer.

Is there a limit on the number of adjustments?

Yes: one adjustment per item. Once you've been refunded, a later markdown on the same item can't be claimed. Waiting has a cost too: if your color and size sell out, the item no longer qualifies.

Does Nordstrom match Nordstrom Rack prices?

No. The Rack sets its own prices, and Nordstrom's pricing policy only covers price drops at Nordstrom, so a cheaper Rack price on the same jacket won't get you a refund. Does Nordstrom match Amazon, Sephora or Google Shopping?

No. Under the current pricing policy, Nordstrom does not price match other retailers, including Amazon, Sephora, ASOS, brand websites and lower prices from other sellers in Google Shopping. The only lower price that counts is Nordstrom's own, on the same item, within 10 days. Items sold by third-party sellers or through Nordstrom Marketplace are excluded even from that.

Can I return it and buy it again at the sale price?

Possibly, but it isn't guaranteed. Nordstrom's return policy has no set time limit, returns are handled case by case, and they're free in store and by mail. If the price falls after your 10-day window and your color and size are in stock, you can ask to return the item and rebuy it at the lower price. The new purchase is a sale purchase, so it can't be adjusted later.

Do items bought on sale qualify?

No. Nordstrom's price adjustment applies only to items bought at full price. If you bought something that was already marked down, including at a Black Friday sale price, and it drops further, the pricing policy doesn't cover the difference.

How to request a price adjustment at Nordstrom

  1. Check eligibility. You bought the item at full price from Nordstrom (not a third-party seller or Nordstrom Marketplace), it hasn't been adjusted before, and you're within 10 days of the in-store purchase or shipment date.
  2. Confirm the lower price. The same item must be available at the new price in the same color and size.
  3. Send the request yourself. Online orders: use the request page at nordstrom.com/my-account/price-adjustment (order number and ZIP code). Or call Customer Care at 1-888-282-6060 with your order number or receipt. Nordstrom says it doesn't accept automated price adjustment requests from third-party services.
  4. Get the refund. Approved adjustments are credited to your original form of payment.

Returns & exchanges at Nordstrom

  • Return window: no set time limit; Nordstrom handles returns case by case.
  • Cost: free returns in store and by mail.
  • Holiday 2026: no deadline to track, since the standard policy has no set time limit.
  • Nordstrom Rack: Nordstrom accepts eligible returns of Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com items at Rack stores, except fine jewelry and designer items. Rack purchases can be returned at Nordstrom stores under the Rack's own return terms. The Rack itself allows 40 days (purchases Oct 5 – Dec 24, 2026: until January 18, 2027 or 40 days, whichever is later); Clear the Rack is final sale.

FAQ

Does Nordstrom adjust prices automatically? No. The pricing policy says Nordstrom adjusts at your request, so you need to send the request within 10 days, online or through Customer Care.

When does the 10-day clock start for an online order? On the shipment date. For in-store purchases, it starts on the purchase date.

Can I get a price adjustment on a Black Friday purchase at Nordstrom? Only if you paid full price and Nordstrom lowered the price within 10 days. Items bought at a Black Friday sale price were bought on sale and don't qualify.

Will Nordstrom match a brand's own Black Friday price? No. A brand's website is another retailer, and Nordstrom's pricing policy says it does not price match other retailers.
